Rochester BioMed is a development stage company that is validating the first viable products which include point of care, diagnostic tests from a finger stick.

The market opportunity is significant and multi-factorial. The initial market focus is on US Cardio Vascular Disease patients (CVD).

Other markets include vascular patients with potential venous blood clot in the legs (deep vein thrombosis) who are at risk of pulmonary embolism and stroke, neurosurgery.

CVD patients taking aspirin and/or Plavix who are undergoing surgery are now tested for platelet function at some leading hospitals and heart centers.

Select International markets will be pursued as well.  The incidence of cardiovascular risk factors increases with age (The AHA report estimates that 40.4M of the 82.6M to be > 60 yrs of age).  With the aging demographics, the market opportunity becomes even more significant.
